It's now 1:30am according to my desktop clock. Here I am typing a blog entry.

How I wish I could sleep now sia. But the memories of BPGHS live ops keep on flashing in my mind. I keep on recalling the times whereby I spend with them over the past 3 days. How we get dirty together, how we rush them to get under shelter, how they rush out their time to do their performance rehersal, the skit they perform and of course that appreciation letter that they wrote.

Really, now my mind is thinking. What's God's calling for me? I know myself that I want to "save" people by treating them disease and prevent them from getting sick. But it seems God give me the ability to teach people and mould them to become better person. Is this the reason why I'm serving in the BB.

At thurs night, Pastor William taught us 3 points to effectively serve teens(by that meaning ppl from 13-19 yrs old). Here's the 3 point.

1) Believe in them.--> Dare to let them explore. Yeah I know sometime we are scared to let them screw out as they lack the experience to carry out the task efficiently. But hey, we really should let them experiment so that they will be mould and can carry the task out. In BB and AK, there's a saying. Develop a leader that is better than yourselve. I agree to this point. I mean if you don't let the teens overtake you, you will never have a good leader in the future. Times are changing and these teens are the one that will change the future.

2)Recognise the window of opportunity.--> Don't let it slip by. Being teens, they only have a limited time in their lifetime to be called teens. I means once they hit 20, there are no longer teens. Therefore, finding the right opportunity to teach them is indeed important. In AK, the coaches will always find opportunity to teach their kids important life lessons. I will always observe my kids and sometime teach them life lesson such as looking at the bigger picture or taking responsibilities. Each lesson for them has to be taught at the right opportunity for maximium learning effectiveness.

3)Invest your life into teens. As the english saying goes, you reap what you sow. These is true ah. I mean if you did spend time with your teens, I believe they will learn valuable lessons. Same as to anybody. If you are willing to invest and spend time with them, not only the friendship can be deepen, but also lessons can be pass down to them. Sometimes, they may go astray along the way, but if you really spend time with them, I believe they will make a comeback and follow your path. In my camp, I always make sure my kids are able to bring back life lessons home so that they will benefit from their $100++ dollars spend from edusave. I recall what Gopal say before," if you are here for the 220(our camp fee), I give to you and you may go home now." Really, everytime I come to a AK camp, I know that 220 plays a very minor part in the whole camp. My motivation always come from my kids in the camp. Sometime they can be as good as the angel or as naughty as devils, but they are still my kids and it's my job as the coach to take care and teach them life lessons.

I wonder what should I do now? Hope that my job will be avaliable on monday. I believe I got a job at Raffles Hospital as a temperature screener(if I remember correctly that is.)

it's 10:31 AM now
