Let see…. It's been 2 weeks since I started out my Final Year Project (aka FYP). In case you don't know what my FYP is, let me give you a brief intro to it.

A local science company, Agrogenesis has created a new product known as Dr. Bird Alert Team(BAT). This product works by acting as a bird repellent. As to the name imply, its main function is to "shoo" birds lor. However, they are some ppl who mistaken it as "shoot" bird"… well either way is fine coz the ultimate aim is to chase the bird always mah! Haha. So far, the product is able to repel birds like Dove, therefore, my job is to test out if it can repel against the Mr black bird of Singapore, the Crow! Not only that, we are also testing if this product is able to work by repelling against other pests such as Cockroaches (eeeeek, I hate this the most man!), Lizards, Rodents and Ants.

Today, I went back to school to discuss with Dr. Henry, Dr Song and Ms Tan on the project progression. I'm getting more and more interested in it as I'm able to do both the science (conduct behavior study on the mice) and business (sales + marketing report) for this project which is quite cool. What more can I ask is that I'm able to work in Dr. Henry's lab of mice! I have always wanted to have a chance to work in that lab with the mice man…J

Well, so far, the project progression has only finish it's first phase which is literature search on the product. That is to understand the mechanism of how the product works and also research on areas where they are "bird" problems. I thank my friends for providing info on places that has bird problems.

To those who read this blog, if your HDB area is been infected with birds (pigeons, crows, mynahs or sparrow), please tell me as I'm now doing sample testing to test the efficacy of this product! Thank you very much!

Now I am waiting for Dr Henry to design the cage and lab protocol and I can start working in the lab already! Not only that, I will also be leaving on Dec 8 so as to continue my project in Suzhou, China. So till the next update which is…I don know? When I'm free? HahaJ
